Five members of the Tamil national Alliance (TNA) will attend the 37th United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions in Geneva, which began yesterday Ilangai Tamil Arasu Katchi leader Mavai Senathirajah said yesterday.
Senathirajah said the decision had been taken at a meeting chaired by TNA leader R Sampanthan and attended by MP MA Sumanthiran, in Colombo. The five members to attend the 37th United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session will be named soon.
Already Kilinochchi District TNA MP S Sridharan is in Geneva, and four others will join him soon. Sridharan will attend all committee meetings of the UNHRC session and he will again present the Council with TNA requests which have hitherto not been addressed.
TNA’s stance on the alleged war crimes in the last phase of the war and those who disappeared during the conflict remained unchanged, Senathirajah said.
